Strategic Business Director, Transportation and Infrastructure
This role requires an experienced Strategic Business Director who will be capable ofdeveloping and implementing a 3–5 year strategy which will lay out the current market including the competitive landscape, identify key clients and prioritise the services to be offered. The Strategic Business Director will be responsible for delivering sector and account development plans including the necessary financial budgeting. The performance and success of the Director will be measured against sector and account sales and growth against agreed targets that will be contained in the sales and marketing plan for the sector. 

Responsibilities

  • Present regular progress reports directly to the UK Board
  • Establish account development teams across UK Divisions
  • Establish and coordinate relationships within other BV markets in order to manage international accounts.
  • Coordinate the activities of the sales and marketing team to implement the sector development plan.
  • Working with the Practice Managers, establish a rolling series of initiatives to accelerate new sales based service offerings and segments.
  • Development ofsales literature.
  • Define and manage agreed campaigns.
  • Pro-actively drive initiatives and activate the necessary technical support staff to close sales and generate new proposals.
  • Lead theimplementation of a CRM tool for the market sector.
  • Provide accurate weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Actively coordinate follow up activity within practices to maintain appropriate drive.
  • Maintain a rolling report by practice area for proposals issued and won against budgeted sales targets.
  • Be responsible for carrying out an annual sales and marketing review.  

Candidate Requirements

  • A proven track record in developing HSE services in the UK market.
  • A strong understanding of current markets, customers and the competitive landscape in the transportation and infrastructure sectors, particularly Rail
  • Proven experience in coordinating sales activities.
  • Experience in selling and delivering consulting assignments..
  • Strong knowledge of the Health and Safety market and technical aspects of the service.
  • Experience of working within a matrix organisation offering a wide breadth of service.
  • Good relationship network with clients at the appropriate executive level.
  • At least 10 years experience in professional services.
  • Must be highly mobile.
